My Secret Stash is the epitome of shopping locally - everything in the shop is a representation of a Michigan based business. Some as small as two hands and a kitchen table and some as small as a crew of 10 working to build a lifestyle and brand.
My Secret Stash is making the shop local and shop small movement a lot more accessible. Our fearless leader, Karen Hilt, started My Secret Stash as a small bath and body business building on age old family recipes with a modern twist. After selling in art shows, maker's markets, and partnering in many galleries and shops, Karen brought her longtime friends and makers under one roof to offer an eclectic array of finery in our Northern Paradise - Traverse City Michigan.
Our devoted team includes:
Leslie Simionescu - retail diva and yogi extraordinaire. Leslie and Karen have been working together off and on for over 15 years! Leslie is dedicated to making you happy and content.
Calvin Hilt - our teen entrepreneur and creator of the Mixer Elixir and Tealixir brands. Calvin has been with us since inception and really ties the operations and retail front together. You'd never know he's hasn't graduated High school yet.
James Purkiss - man of many hats - both figuratively and literally. James has been with the brick and mortar shop pretty much since opening. He is a fantastic artist, chain maille maker and LARPer.
Rachel Mavis - all around perma happy gal of multi talents. Rachel brings a feminine touch to our maker group and has been with us since the beginning as well.
Josh Sisco - world traveller and documentarian. When Josh is not galavanting to other countries, he is at the shop gleefully keeping tourists happy, and he's been doing that since the beginning also.
Julian Hilt - our mayor and kid representative on the retail front. Julian surprises folks daily with his ability to know just about everything and every maker in the shop and is able to spin a tale or two about them all as well. And he can count change back from the register the old school way.
The shop is located at 122 Cass Street in downtown Traverse City right next to the world famous Omelette Shoppe. Don't worry if you're waiting in line for breakfast, the Omelette Shoppe crew will pop over and let you know when your table's up! Neither of us want you to miss breakfast.
